Session looked like it might me a good one, wind conditions weren't too
strong, reservoir as you would expect was reasonably flat. I did have a
new crew member this week though so there was going to be an element of
training during the day. After rigging up and getting on the water my crew
member decided that she didn't really like it so I needed to return to
shore and drop her off. I left her with the job or taking photos...
Off I went on by own, now with more work to do as I had t sails to cope
with, 11.98m2, but if you have read my previous entries you would have
noticed that I now can use the trapeze. Well so I thought... There were
several capsizes throughout the day, these were panicky to say the least,
being hooked onto the trapeze while the boat was going over got me very
nervous at times. The last capsize of the day went horribly wrong! As the
boat was going over I managed to get the trapeze hook off, just, but as the
hook came free so did my footing. I fell from the side of the boat cracking
my knee on the centre board as I fell overboard. I did finally get the boat
upright but thought that enough was enough so I decided to call it quits
for the day.
Better luck next week, provided the storm has passed.
